But this just shows the class that Reggie Wayne has, he stayed loyal to the team that drafted him and I give him props for that.

Reggie Wayne‘s absence from the Colts’ roster didn’t last long, as the receiver agreed to a three-year deal to return to the team on the first day of free agency, a team source told NFL Network’s Albert Breer.
Wayne’s deal is worth $17.5 million, NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora reported, citing a league source. Wayne will receive a $7.5 million signing bonus and be paid $13.5 million during the first two years of the deal.
“REGGIE! REGGIE! REGGIE!!!!!!!” Colts owner Jim Irsay tweeted after news of the deal leaked.
Many believed Wayne, who has 11,708 receiving yards and 73 touchdowns in 11 seasons with the Colts, would follow QB Peyton Manning wherever he went. But league sources told Breer earlier Tuesday that really wasn’t the case, and they proved to be right as the five-time Pro Bowl receiver returned to Indy.

Free Agency is still pretty dead, but how about RB Brandon Jacobs and Mario Manningham, joining the 49ers.

The bears brought in RB Michael Bush, which pissed of Matt Forte.

The Patriots are doing work! they brought in 15 players already. They got big names like, WR Brandon Lloyd, WR Anthony Gonzalez, and DE Jonathan Fanene.

The Colts have dropped 15! Of those 15, big names have been cut like Peyton Manning, Pierre Garcon, Anthony Gonzalez, Jeff Saturday, Mike Pollak, and Jacob Tamme.

but have only picked up 8... including... WR Donnie Avery, C Samson Satele, DE Cory Redding, and DT Brandon McKinney!

I love Pierre Garcon more than you all love the Redskins. He is my favorite WR.

i liked him too, but i gotta admit, he's not a great catcher.... Sure he made plenty of Spectacular catches, and stunt catches..... but he's nothing compared to reggie, again i mean this in CATCHING... because Garcon is tremendous runner..

I agree Knockers, no way we can compare Garcon to Reggie, Garcon only has a fraction of the catches and yards Reggie has in his career. A lot of young WRs are good early on in their careers because of their speed but later on they have difficulties putting up numbers.

I like Garcon too, but we have to keep in mind that Garcon did have Manning throwing to him his first 2 years. He did however have a great season last year with 70 catches and 900+ yards but he did have Reggie and Dallas Clark to compliment him which helped him get those numbers, so defenses had to pick their poison.

In Washington he might have problems putting up the numbers he did in Indy, especially with a rookie qb this year. Hopefully I am wrong and he puts up great numbers for us. But yes like Knockers said, Garcon is nothing like Reggie at all.

    Cool WR Donnie Avery Recovering

Colts' Avery says reconstructed knee hasn't slowed him down
    images?qtbnANd9GcSzH12Yc8sBEy5O2COidy vmi00uuY6 C9m73WhgNJb6tLOi Pa

When the Indianapolis Colts lost Pierre Garcon in free agency to the Washington Redskins, they needed a burner who could go deep and stretch the field. Donnie Avery, who had run a 4.27 40-yard dash at his pre-draft pro day, caught 100 passes for 1,263 yards in two seasons with the St. Louis Rams, and showed promise.

Then he blew out his right knee in a preseason game before the 2010 season. His right anterior cruciate ligament was surgically repaired, and the Rams cut him before the 2011 season.

Avery eventually landed in Tennessee, but from all media accounts, he couldn't supplant the young receivers the Titans were playing, guys that needed the reps to learn and grow.

Avery finished with three catches, one for a TD.

"The focus this year is all about staying consistent, staying healthy and just contribute as much as possible," Avery told the Indianapolis Star.

Asked if he was still fast, Avery replied, ""I'm fast, yeah." He claims he was able to run a 4.25 40-yard dash after the knee was reconstructed.

Avery told the Star that his ACL injury wasn't bad luck, but that "everything happens for a reason."

"That year I was out, I did learn a lot, not just from the guys on the team but around the league, on how to be a pro, how to study film, just waiting my turn," he added.

With the Colts rebuilding their offense, presumably around Andrew Luck, Avery's turn may now be at hand.
