How to Control Your Parachute. And H.A.L.O.

The inevitable has happened. Your Jet got shot down. Your Helo is too damaged.. Or your jumping off a high cliff. Soldier in this case you have two options.. Bounce off the ground like a bitch or Deploy that chute and stay in the fight..


First of all to deploy your chute you have to hit the jump button 4x. However There are times in missions where we are going to want you to H.A.L.O. Or High altitude Low Opening. We all know that if we are just dangling there we are an easy target for some scrappy sniper or general asshole with good aim.. So the least amount of time you are dangling the better. We will get to HALO a bit later.

Using Your left stick you are able to rotate yourself slowly while parachuting. this is handy if You see a place you want to land and want to get there. The right stick will push you toward there. While in parachute flight you are able to use your Primary weapon and You are also able to spot.. Just because you are in the air does not mean that you cannot be helpful. Use this time wisely to call out enemy movmements and spot the enemy if possible. And if You are particularly good Rain down some ammo on them and take a few out.

And now for the fun stuff. High Altitude Low Opening.

If you are ordered to HALO in on a position we are not talking about the game where Mein Fuherer Master Chief is Kicking ass on some distant planet. NO YOU LOLLYGAGGIN NUMBNYUTS! We are talking about High Altitude Low Opening!

Your Pilot is going to take You higher than You have ever been. And then We are going to tell you to Un Ass this aircraft. Your first instinct will be to deploy your chute immediately.. WELL DONT! You are going to stabilize yourself on the way down by pushing the jump button twice.. You will see both hands out in front of you and this is a good thing.. You are going to look around but keep a mindful eye on the fast approaching ground. At the last possible moment you are going to deploy the chute and touch down safely. Tactically Remove the shit from your britches and Get Oscar Mike to the objective.
