    Re: Weekly Surprise

Good points by everyone, but I have a few opinions of my own if you care to read on. Although I'm rooting for the Niners this week, I feel they can't overcome the Lions, especially in Detroit. Although Washington is having a somewhat decent season, I don't think they can beat the dream-team Eagles. I also disagree with the majority of you that the Texans will beat the Ravens and the Viking beating the Bears. These claims will be sorely proven wrong coming this Sunday, the Bears are bad, but not that bad. And really?! The Rams beating the Packers?! Not gonna happen!! I agree with Dubs mostly in this off-base forum.

    @ Dubs

Cutler had some very good players around him in Denver. Lets take a look at who they were:

    1. Brandon Marshall - his rookie year he only had 20 catches, but his next 3 he had over 100 catches each year with over 1100 yards each.

    2. Tony Scheffler - the prototype h-back, he had good seasons in denver yet Cutler never looked for him inside the 5. For an h-back like Scheffler to only have 5 tds as his best shows how bad Cutler was.

    3. Daniel Graham - a tight end who came from denver just for Cutler. In New England , Graham had a career best 7 tds and was a dangerous weapon inside the 5 yard line. Yet Cutler only managed to get the ball to him for tds a total of 6 times in 2 years. Another example of how bad Cutler was.

    4. Eddie Royal and Brandon Marshal both had over 90 catches in 2008, yet Marshall only had 6 tds and Royal only 5. That year was clearly a year for Cutler to show what he had, he passed for over 4500 yards with 25 tds, but he had 18 ints.

No accuracy and dumb "ROMO" like decisions by Cutler is what makes him look horrible.

Yes those years the running game for Denver looked bad and was bad , but that can be attributed to Shannahan believing in Cutler so much that he let him pass the shit out of the ball.

In his 2 years as a full time starter, Cutlers numbers were:

2007 3497 yards 20 tds 14 ints 88.1 passer rating, those ints killed him as they came in crucial situations

2008 4426 yards 25 tds 18 ints 86.0 passer rating, again those ints killed him with "romo" like play

In Chicago his first year he had 3600 yards passing with 27 tds but still those fucking Ints, 26 ints have killed him.

Cutler can move the ball, but inside the red zone he can not be trusted. They need to give the running backs the ball in those situations. Even if it means coming away with only 3 pts opposed to an int when the team should of scored.

If a QB can not throw the ball accurately enough from 20 yards away to score a td with his WRs he should not be passing inside the 10 or 5 yard lines.

Cutler has proven he is not a winning qb, just like Romo for dallas and Eli for the Giants. Sure Eli has a SB ring, but remember , Eli did not play in the game that the Giants won in the playoffs getting to the SB.

    @ Donks....

The reason 49rs can beat the Lions is because Lions are on a roll right now and they have not had that and gone through it as a team. They will be overwhelmed by their own success this far that I think they are going to make some mistakes against the 49rs.

The 49rs are not a bad team, they will lose the game if they can not stop "MEGATRON", but I think they have the pass rush to rattle up Stafford.

The pEckers do not have Clifton protecting Rodgers and the Rams also have a good pass rush. If Rams give Steven Jackson the ball, they can control the clock and keep the ball away from Rodgers hands.

The Skins should have no problems winning against the eGGoes. They have the better running game and philly can't stop the run. The Skins have the better 2ndary and Vick just can't throw the ball for shit right now.

Skins can put themselves in the best position in the NFC east and I am sure Shannahan has been preparing them all week for a game that we are all going to be like "wow". Shannahan knows running the ball and stellar defense wins games, look for Skins to ram it down the eGGoes throat all game long. All 3 rbs, Hightower, Torain and Helu Jr should see action tomorrow.

The Bears are not going to win many games by allowing Cutler to throw the ball inside the red zone. That is why they have Forte and they don't seem to trust him at all. I mean they have not even given him a new contract, that is total bs and just ignorance by the Bears.
