In certain conditions Covie,
1. In PvE if you are in different alliances, there is no way for your characters to be on the same shard.
2. In PvP you are technically enemies if you choose a different alliance.Although I suppose you could explore Cyrodiil together and just not kill each other; until you run into people from any of the factions, since one or both of you will probably die depending on which faction you run into.
3. You can be in the same guild so you can still talk in game while you are not playing together because of being in a different faction.
Honestly I don't find this an issue at all as even though there are 3 different alliances the is no limit to the character customisation that you can use as well as so many different choices of race etc.
Can't say it would be a game that tipples everyone but before I played it I was strictly a FPS gamer then the division dropped and brought around an rpg style shooter and it's then that I started wondering about MMORPG games themself.
Wasnt sure at first weather I would have liked ESO but I was out one day trading a few of my sons games in for him and noticed it at a really cheap price so decided to pick it up.Actually glad I did as it's brought a different aspect to my gaming that I can enjoy when FPS get on my nerves.
There's so many good aspects to this game (just remember this is my opinion and others may not feel the same) but one thing that stands out for me is the game life itself. For a game to be released from April 2014 and 3 years down the line have a huge player base and still be producing Dlc content,ZeniMax and Bethesda must be doing something right.
