(I will be MIA in game until end of July starting next Friday however I can help in the forums almost everyday if needed)
After searching through some of the forums (I do have multiple TBI's, so I might have missed something so please correct me where applicable) it seems that this game has died off in popularity and possibly needs a new way of running this game compared to other shooters. From what I've researched the past 2 days this game has already been signed for 10 years already and could be a great platform for all members but in my opinion it needs to be looked at differently that first person shooters.
From what I remember (re-read some of destiny CAG forums today) there was a huge disconnect involving medals which affects promotions ect. For example marksman badges and what circumstances are required to earn them.
In my humble opinion this game needs to be centered around PvE which includes: raids, quests, strikes and helping members to be able to get to end game content. Now you are thinking hey dumbass there is PvP in this game and that's what's important in every other game we play so it's most important.... He's such a dumbass! Cheech just boot this guy!!!
Well that is probably a great idea but if you have a few extra minutes to hear me out maybe this will make some sense.
when I was very active in destiny I spent most of my time helping new recruits and veteran members with power leveling characters, getting better gear, running raids and finishing exotic quests to get the very top gear in the game.
There are people in the game right now that get paid good money to do all of those things through their websites... Give me 5 guys that are even decent at destiny and in 2 weeks you could do the same thing through this website if you wanted to. The reason I bring this up is if people are willing to pay for this then it must be important to the game. (I know a lot of you haven't played nor care to play it and is the reason I brought that up)
So yes the marksman badges are needed in this game to stick with the clans reward system but it is no where near as important as every first person shooter out there. What is way more important is providing a service of organization for raids, quests, helping new members get ready for end game content and having the right gear on every 3-person strike or 6-person raid. With that said badges and promotions should be based on the individuals readiness for those events/ability to efficiently take new members through the end game content. (I could easily create this with one or two other destiny veterans input)
Now for everyone saying what the fuck about PvP dumbass it's an important part of the game. You are absolutely right and there needs to be awards and medals for that part of the game; however it is not as important in dedicated first person shooters and more importantly for recruitment and building up our troop numbers the PvE is more important. Why you ask? Because even the PvP hardcore players still need to do PvE content to get the best gear to be better in PvP as well as with every major update to unlock all of the content for them to do their weekly/nightfall strikes as well as opening all of their PvP options.
In closing, this game is basically the game W.O.W and halo having a baby with the W.O.W part being the majority of the content. If people are willing to pay people to run them through this stuff then a well organized drama free clan that offers almost everything people are paying for would be a great option to paying someone $60 to do the same thing.
(obviously there are exceptions to just about everything I said but my guess is the majority of destiny players would say that is what they would look for in a clan. The hardest part in this is having a small group (2-4 at most) deciding what medals/promotion qualifications are most important. But as long as it is centered on the important topics I stated earlier it really wouldn't be as hard as everyone made it in the past and would allow for a healthy and steady recruitment program)
(Lastly please take this as me trying to help and start some healthy conversation about this game. If I'm completely off base please just delete the post if it causes any problems you're not willing to deal with.)
Happy 4th everyone.
