Debating on getting a Battlefield 1 server for CAG. Depending on how much it is. Any thoughts?
JB would like to here from you about it as you are the one running whiskey.

About to make the journey to work in and around 5 mins time but should have a bit of time before I start to give you some input
Past battlefield releases in terms of servers have shown that it can possibly be a while for developers to release the ability to host servers due to wishing to work with issues that the game has itself first.
Servers tend to run in 3/4 specific groups of rental duration days with most opting for the 90 day duration (cant recall the exact price for this though).
Release of the game I surmise will potentially see all game modes possibly have a low ticket count ie short quick games (15-20 min games) which unless they release servers early on and give that option to customize game ticket length then its probably best to wait. Most players I can assure you will opt for the more lengthy game opposed to one that is shorter in length.
An advantageous aspect that servers in the past have shown in regards to Whiskey company is that a server personal to CAG has shown that its a great recruiting tool for advertising the clan as a lot of players joining a server will notice clan members playing in a server quick especially if playing within an official CAGclan server.
An official server is also a great tool to give the ability and means to work on clan strategies, game nights for clan members only, training nights and also set the potential to host clan vs clan battles/scrimmages or even host our own in house scrimmage's all depending on the popularity of the game and the amount of players both public and clan orientated that actually play.
Overall I can't see a CAG server being a bad thing when the relevant circumstances are taken into consideration before making the jump to purchase it when released.
Blameitongod should also be able to provide a good insite into this subject also as he has experience with this topic also.

Ok. You nailed exactly why I was thinking a server would be great to have. Again, not knowing how much it is, I think will be great to have.
I do not know how CAG plays on Battlefield as I was not in during whiskeys high point.
I am a big fun of long game matches. I am not the biggest fan of short matches.
Another thing I like is being able to control what maps are in the rotation. We all know every game has that 1 map that everyone hates. Being able to remove that map(s) from rotation will help popularity.
Anyone have any experience having a server? Input would be helpful.

No experience with servers but when the time comes I think it will be an awesome idea especially with the popularity this game is having in the clan already. Lets just hope it lives up to the hype.

Ok so I checked out prices for Bf4 as I surmise if given Battlefield 1 servers they be pretty much similar unless they change the length of time someone can rent them for.
From lowest yo highest you have (All prices are in Uk Pounds Sterling so may need converting to give you an accurate idea) -
1 Day Rental - £1.19
7 Day Rental - £5.59
30 Day Rental - £19.99
