    I served as a medic in the army from 86 to 92 and am a vet of Desert Storm. I would like to request the U.S. Army ribbon.

    Not 100% positive if it counts for this ribbon. But I think all extra badges are acquired after you finish your sharpshooter and become lance corporal

    Correct. Once you become Lance corporal you can request the medals.
