Frank Castles Quick Level 30 Starter Guide

I know what it is like to get to a certain level and go about things in a game and then you find out it should be another way. This is all part of the learning curve when playing games. I figured I would post some things I have learned from my peers in CAG as well as on my own to help you get a head start when you reach level 30. Please understand this way is not the only way to do things it is just what I have learned works in general and will provide you some things to look at while you begin your journey at level 30.

These are in no particular order.

    1) As you find and make gold ear pieces pay attention to the stats. Depending on how you play you may want to change this but here is what I have done looking at certain stats you may or may not know about.

    A) Firearms and DPS.

From what I have learned you want your DPS at 150K or above. This may change if you are planning on a electronics build or a Stamina tank build but shooting for a minimum of 150K can help you in the Dark Zone.

    B) Try to keep your health at least above 60K if you can. Being a glass cannon is fine until someone starts beating on you. You may want to pump this stat up if you are going to play a tank but I am not so sure how effective tank build is in the Dark Zone.

    C) Try to keep your Electronics at least at 10K or higher. 10K is low but it will still give you some decent healing when you use those skills. Anything lower could be a waste of time.

    D) Look under your character tab for survivability. Then find your armor/damage mitigation. You really want this stat at 50% or more. The cap atm is 65% but it is going go higher soon. I believe this is important for all characters so keep an eye on your armor rating.

    2) The great gear game.

So early on in The Division I picked up pieces that I could use and plopped them on. Now you will want to break apart all your junk but also sell stuff so you can recalibrate some of your gear. Here are some tips to help you get the gear you want.

    A) Pay close attention to the stats your gold gear has. Be mindful of the stats I have already spoken about so you will be able to make changes as you go. You can change gear stats at your recalibration station in your tech wing on the second floor. Two major things to note:

    I) Once you make a change to an item you can only change that particular stat ever again on that particular gear piece. So if you change your firearms gear to a higher firearms you will only be able to change that item to Firearms, Stamina or Electronics ever again. This means you can not change your armor rating or add a module spot once you change the stats on the item.

II) The more you change an item the more expensive recalibration becomes. This is why advise you to break items down for crafting and sell some things because recalibration can be expensive.

    B) As you earn Phoenix credits and Dark Zone money you will be able to buy new gear recipes. Please note that when you make gear check the stats and skills on the item. Why would you want to us a weapon with electronic based skills when you are DS focused?
You can always make the item again for new stats and abilities if needed. This is why it is very important to keep breaking gear down and scavenging for new resources.

I hope this is helpful This may nor may not help and perhaps you already know this. All I know is that if I didn't know these things there may be somebody else out there who doesn't know either. I hope you enjoy the game and if you need a hand feel free to give me a shout.
