The story goes when Jason Newsted joined Metallica Lars was a complete dick to him. During the recording of "...And Justice for All" Lars would have the sound guy remove all of Jason's bass from the recording. When they were on tour he would have one of the roadies turn off his amps or turn them so low nobody could hear him play. Someone went back and did a remaster with the bass corrected. You can tell a huge difference in the new version. Makes you wonder how it really would have sounded if Lars wouldn't have screwed around so much.

Never like lars. Still would liked to have seen what Metallica would be like if Dave would never have been kicked out. Mind you, we would not have megadeth.

Lars is the brains behind the Metallica juggernaut where Cliff was the talent. Without Cliff Metallica would have been like every other Bay-area thrash bands at the time.
