Last night we had some issues with game chat that killed a few of our games. In case this happens in the future can we reach a consensus on what to do? Do we standardize on using party chat since it seems to work for everyone? Do we all go to party chat if there are issues immediately instead of trying to play with limited communication? During a few of the games I could only hear one person out of four which lead to mass confusion. From what Cheech has said there are different TCP/UDP ports opened during chat. My suspicion is game chat is using UDP which has no error correction or handshake to insure delivery of packets to reduce network overhead. With members spread out from Canada all the way to South Florida there are plenty of network hops along the way for traffic to get dropped.
