Just a quick summery,by the time we dropped the kids off at the wife's parents house the sun was starting to set and we had just over an hrs drive to get to the resort so it was pretty much dusk by the time we got there.(This explains the pictures at night coming first in the ones posted above)
Think we checked in just after 6pm GMT. We headed to the room first off to get pretty much ready for dinner that was booked for half 7.Honestly iv stayed in a few hotels including the one we got married in and iv never been so impressed(really underestimated how nice this place was going to be).The room was straight offset from the spa a few hundred meters away.Just walking into the room it felt cosy as hell and just a sense that relaxation is present and a must.Room was perfect as you can see from the pictures,Air con always had the ability to keep the room at a controllable temp,bathroom was clean with a real sense of high class about it(to which I am not lol) and the bed was like sleeping on a huge cloud (prob due to the Egyptian Cotton).
The restaurant itself was not within the hotel itself but off set in a neighbouring building of its own.Dress code was smart casual so when we got into the place I felt a tad over dress(but who gives a shit right? I was there for myself and the wife,no one else). 3 course meal consisted of carrot and coriander soup (starter), 10oz of locally sourced beef braised in a red wine and mushroom/onion sauce with a size of freshly prepared chip/fries(main course),raspberry and lemon tart served with fresh cream dressed with dark chocolate shavings and a drizzle of orange and strawberry sorbet(desert).The wife had a chicken stir fry with hoi sin sauce with mushrooms peppers and onions as her main course and then sticky toffee pudding with fresh local sourced ice cream as desert. As you can see I was to busy smashing this food down to even thinking of photos lol but managed to grab a few of the cocktails we had which where, a morgans twist(captain morgans rum,with a dad of ginger ale with fresh pressed apple juice) and an appletini(absolute vodka with fresh pressed apple juice and a dash of martini).The food was to die for,im not normally a person that try's new food an usually stick to what I know I like but im glad I did try it.The beef I had was that tender that that shit came apart like pulled pork and almost melted In your mouth and the desert,OMG there were that many refreshing tastes that that shit had my taste buds tingling for a while after we left the restaurant.As we were half way through our main courses where we where seated right next to the window(15 foot approx long window) and just out of the blue fireworks where being set off.Turns out that its a nightly thing that the hotel do to make the customers meal that bit more special.
We headed to the bar after this for a few drinks before heading back to the room.Glad they had my favourite beer on tap lol.
Next morning we hit the spa round about 9:30am,the wife went for a neck and shoulder massage which she said was great in terms of relaxation and I myself went to the rejuvenation pool (obviously couldn't get pictures here lol) but the pool lighting was set to an ambient mood and with heated water and open fire at one end of the room.Shit was so relaxing.Really wanted to go for an all over body massage but had the worry about the wood poping up so decided that it wasn't a good idea due to potential embarrassment lol.
Breakfast was a continental buffet with your typical sausage bacon etc,cold meats,cheese,fresh fruit(prepared and whole,cerals,coffee,tea and a selection of fresh pressed fruit juice)
Overall,this place was fan fucking tastic and id definitely go back again.Id definitely recommend if any of you fellas visit Northern Ireland that you make this your first choice of stay.Everything that was included in the competition on this stay included The room,the 3 course meal,breakfast,room service,full use of the fitness sweate,spa,pool,juice bar right up until 3pm which was well after our check out time off 11am.
Overall the only money that I had to pay out during this stay was £14 for two cocktails at the restaurant with dinner and just over £30 for the drinks we had at the bar that night after the meal.So all in all I spent £44 in total which was epic.
