    R6 Strategies And Tactics!

    ***Please move thread***

As you all know R6 is a team skilled based game. So I figured it would help if we had a forum to discuss strategies and tactics. Also get a feel on how people like to play the game. A lot of operators work well with each other and are needed to win rounds. Yes , you can just randomly pick operators that best suit you (not the team) and still win. BUT in ranked against other good players , it just won't work. So lets use the thread to discuss all of our options and get a basic game plan down.

    My thoughts.....

On operators. No matter what the game mode is and map these operators should always be used. These are my opinions.
Think the main attackers should be thermite, ash , sledge. Depending on the game mode the 4-5th attacker can be switched out, but I would say Fuze unless it's hostage. I would say have atleast one shield so if fuze isn't taken maybe blitz. But like I said in the beginning thermite, ash, sledge are MUST HAVE'S

    My thoughts.....
Attackers- No matter what the game mode is and map these operators should always be used. These are my opinions.
The main attackers should be thermite, ash , sledge. Depending on the game mode the 4-5th attacker can be switched out, but I would say Fuze unless it's hostage. I would say have atleast one shield so if fuze isn't taken maybe blitz. But like I said in the beginning thermite, ash, sledge are MUST HAVE'S when attacking. They have the ability to break down any barrier!

Defenders- The defender's have more of a core group than Attackers...Castle, Kapkan , Bandit , Mute. Depending on the game mode Jager , Frost , Rook, Doc could be the 5th spot. I would say Jager most of the time, unless it's hostage. Mute and Bandit work very well for defense along with Castle, but have to be used the right way. This is where communication is key. Every game and situation is different. Have to talk and not just run out of the room(s) and go lone wolf on the team. Every one should be fortify the area, unless the ceiling can be breached. One person should run right away and seal the hatches.

Attacking- Now on attacking haven't given much thought since there are endless ways to attack on every map. But I do think should come at all angles. Ranked will allow you to spawn in different area's, should split it up to two groups 1 group of 2 and 1 group of 3. Also should breach on different levels and work our way as a team to breach the room(s) from all angles. It's very hard to defend from every direction. Also using breaching charges at same time. Like said before communication is key! Shoot out every camera along your way!!!!

Defending- Biggest thing with defending is being able to fortify a room. It's very easy, pick the right operators. Now where to setup, trip mines, castle, mutes will depend on the area and game mode. But using communication will make it very easy lol I have played many games where the right operators where used but people either run off to there favorite spot or forget to help out. Barricade walls , use bandit and mute with the barricade's . Castle the main spots and use mute on it. Work as a team ! With 5 people defending , I would suggest maybe having two in the room(s) and one lone wolf trying to flank the attackers. Most modes you only have to fortify one room, so you could have two in that room and 3 lone wolfs. Also use the camera's right away to try to pin point a location there are breaching from outside. Also if I am a lone wolf I like to barricade as much as possible around me, so I can hear then tearing down the barricades and gives a sense of direction where they are coming from .

Basically my tips and ill have many more as I continue to log more and more hours!
    1. communicate
    2. play as a team
    3. pick the right operators and work with other operators
    4. have a game plan
    5. have fun and win

Would love to hear anyone's tips or strategies.

There are a few tips here and there.
Defending: you can create a path for them to walk barricading all and then tearing down a few doors. This is purely psychological thing. They see a teared door, they need to check if there is someone in the next room to ambush them. Then once they are there either you are waiting for them or they'll go through next door. When roaming around (lone wolves) make in such a way that it doesn't take you too much time to go help soldiers in distress. You are no use if you end up 1 vs 4, unless you are that good. Most of the traps should go far from the protected room. Easily, because people tend to be less attentive when rushing to get to the objective than when they are close to it. Kill holes: those are good but it's a double edged weapon. So please don't stick your head in to it and possibly make it in places where they are less noticeable. One or two kills top. Don't sit there whole time or you'll regret it. Barricade it after that. Mute is nice at start to hold drones from initial reckoning, but after that you need to relocate them to walls or windows or put them in a less evident spot than just below a barricade. Smoke should put one gas bomb in a hidden place so to make sure you can contain an attack from multiple sides. Jaeger anti granade thing, should be put far from each other. If a granade comes in the range of two of those, they will both shoot and so you basically reduce the possibility to stop them (they can only fire twice).

Attacking: don't rush. As strange as it can sound, 4 minutes are a long time for the objective. Go in group of 2 or 3, move together and always watch your back for flanker and lone wolves. Also is better if one group goes directly to the objective and the other cleans around it, to avoid surprises. Ash is very useful at start, if it blows one objective's window as the occasion pops up, she will stop immediately defenders from fortifying. Most of the times they are still putting up walls when round starts and having to worry for a broken window will give attackers the advantage of getting there and they are not fully prepared. Of course watch out for snipers having someone with ACOG or Glaz looking at it while moving to the building. Ash can also destroy shields with its skill weapon, so use it to kill or expose those hiding behind one. Remember, those shells do not hit or do anything if shot to body parts.

As more come to my mind I'll write down

A big thing that I see a lot with being able to be successful in Siege is with audio. With having a good headset, you should be able to hear footsteps. When a guy is stand up and walking or running, you can hear his footsteps really well. If they are crouching, little less but still able to hear them. Another way of hearing where a guy is by them moving their specialist. Switching their gun, changing stance, moving while prone are audio cues for you to pick up and try to know where the player is on the map.

Yeah, I've Turtlebeach XO SEVEN Pro. They are really good. The cons: your own team mates moving or talking too much about stuff (not game related) can cover those noises at the worst moment

Don't be afraid to tell people to be quiet . Be nice about it, but yeah I agree . Sound is a huge factor in this game, any time I am moving around close to objective I always crouch and try not to make noise on either end of it(attacking or defending)Using good communication and a good game plan would help with people getting setup right away and getting in there position so that no one is moving and teammates are on he cameras or listening . People shouldn't be running around like mad men lol

Also, I have noticed that targeting enemy's with drone or cameras can actually hurt you. Once you find the objective on attacking stop targeting them and find a spot that will help you and ur teammates breach the room and know we're people are . On cameras don't tag anyone , then they will shoot cameras out. USE COMMUNICATION!!!
