After I built the shelves, workbench, and entranceway table, it was time to work on our library/lounge. Same place I built the hidden door/shelves.

The concept was to maximize space and minimize clutter. One of my first ideas for the lounge was to cover an entire wall with box shelves.

Since I built a bar we didn't need that much so I cut it down a bit. Simple boxes but I antiqued them a bit using some easy painting techniques. Gave them the used old look.

This is our lounge from the entrance way. A small balcony is to the right for the smokers. I will show another angle when I post my computer desk/floating shelf

One of the last things I whipped up was this minimalistic floating wall shelf/computer desk. We wanted it in the office/lounge but not take up too my if space. We don't really use the computer much anymore other than downloading movies/music.

Same concept as the floating shelf. I used joined 2x3" pine for the frame, secured to the wall studs, then built a box out of beautiful pine. Sadly the wife wanted it painted so all that amazing wood is hidden.

I offered to put a sliding keyboard under it but she liked it as is.
