    Rainbow Six Siege Updates

This update was taken from a site and dated the 8th of December.Bare in mind that this update will include Xbox 1,PS4 and PC information.
A few hours ago, Ubisoft held an AMA session detailing plenty of upcoming Rainbow Siege fixes.
First of all, they talked about the first Rainbow Six Siege fixes coming in the update scheduled to hit by mid-December.

•Fixed: Pawn rotation latency: the difference between a player’s action, the server’s perception and another player seeing said action had an extra delay due to a bug. This had even more impact on shield wielding Operators since sometimes players using those would think they were protected while they were not because of the additional delay caused by the pawn rotation bug.
•Fixed: Shield positioning while rappelling: certain shield angles were not being replicated properly, this caused the shield wielding player to be overprotected in certain cases. This caused hit detection issues for the player shooting at the shield wielding player.
•Fixed: Shooting and moving while rappelling: when moving and shooting while in rappel, the hits were sometimes not registered properly by the server.
•Improved: Kill cam replication issues: the kill cam was not displaying an accurate representation of hit positions. The point of view seen after death was not the exact point of view of the killer. Moreover, we have instances in which the kill cam shows body parts sticking through walls while they actually weren’t being seen from the killer’s perspective. This has been improved for the next title update, but we still need additional work on this. It is still considered under development.

Another hot issue raised by the community is that of lag. An improvement to tick rate is coming, apparently, along with the ability to pick a specific data center:

We are currently investigating having a higher tick rate, which would improve positioning and shooting replication. The current servers run at a tick rate of 64, but the position of players is updated 30 times per second. We have plans to address this very soon and are currently running tests in which we have a position update rate of 60. If the results are satisfying, we will be deploying this in a future update as soon as possible.

Another issue we will be working on is that right now, some players connect to the wrong data centers. If you are not connected to the nearest data center, your gameplay experience will likely not be ideal. We believe that the best solution for this will be to allow the players to select their data centers and that is what we will be working on.

There’s a lot more Rainbow SIx Siege fixes and additions planned, though. For instance, the team is looking at the possibility to add more attachments for guns, more weapon skins and global leaderboards.

Something that is definitely coming is an increase in the chat character limit, from 64 characters to 128; a Spectator Camera will also be added on all platforms, for dedicated servers within custom games, in early 2016.

The University map, currently available only in PvE modes, will be added to the PvP rotation as well. Ubisoft is also evaluating whether to let players customize their character between rounds, and they are working on something along the lines of statistics/infographics and clan tags.

Finally, they are working on some way to help distinguishing friends from foes without disrupting immersion.

First Title Update for Rainbow Six Siege

    12/15/2015 10:00 AM

    Hello Rainbow Six players,

We are excited to share with you this first of many title updates, which is going live December 16th. Keep in mind that this is the beginning and we plan on improving as much as we can with every update, so we encourage you to keep providing us with valuable feedback !

You will find below a broad overview of the main changes. For the detailed patch notes and more information on each of these changes, please check this post (in English).

    NEW CONTENT & FEATURES

NEW ULTRA-HD TEXTURE PACK ON PC

The Ultra-HD texture pack upgrades some of the most common textures in the game, such as characters, and weapons, to a new level of visual fidelity. This higher level of detail can be best appreciated while playing the game in 4K resolution, but the improvements start to be noticeable from 1080p.

The DLC Ultra-HD Texture Pack now available as a free download on Uplay or Steam.

NEW AUTO-KICK FEATURE FOR TEAM KILLING

This is the first step towards improving the team killing issue. We have set some parameters that will cause an automatic kick of a griefer within a match. We are trying our best to make the distinction between accidental team killing and intentional team killing. Same goes for intentional hostage killing while playing as Defender. We will be tracking if the auto-kick feature reduces intentional team killing instances and will be adjusting the rigor of the parameters accordingly.

We have also improved the flow on PC to vote kick griefers.

    TWEAKS & IMPROVEMENTS

    HIT REGISTRATION IMPROVEMENTS
◾Removed a pawn rotation latency bug causing an extra delay between action and perception.
◾Shield angles while rappeling are now replicated properly.
◾Hits are now properly registered when moving and shooting while rappeling.
◾Kill cam now displays a more accurate representation of hit positions. Further fixes remain under development on kill cam representation.

Hit registration issues can have multiple causes and we will be working on additional fixes to address them all in other upcoming title updates.

We will also be running intermittent tests for server tick rates on PC, with the player position update rate set to 60 times per second (vs. the previous 30) in various configurations. When this feature has been validated with these tests, we will be deploying this update on consoles as soon as possible.

    PLAYLISTS CHANGES
◾[PVP] Ranked playlist HUD has been synched up with the Casual playlist
◾Renamed Minimal HUD to Hardcore HUD

We are convinced that Casual and Ranked experiences should be as close and consistent as possible. For these reasons we are re-synching HUD on Ranked and Casual, with only a few difference remaining. It is important to note that we are also working on a proper Hardcore playlist for early 2016, which will contain a very minimal HUD and a more realistic experience.

To read more details about how we plan to evolve the playlists over time and provide us feedback on the settings you would love to see, please join us in this forum thread.

    MATCHMAKING IMPROVEMENTS
◾Ranked matchmaking now tries to match you with players 1 rank away from you and then increases by 1 rank every second.
◾The aggressiveness of skill rating update when a lower ranked team beats a higher ranked team has been reduced.
◾The penalty for abandoning a ranked game in progress has been temporarily reduced to 8 minutes.
◾Skill rank icon is now displayed on the game’s main screen, next to your level.

Multiple bug fixes have also been made to improve matchmaking in PVE and PVP, and prevent the matchmaking system to use skill data from the wrong region or match players.

    BALANCING
◾[PVP] Reduced time to detect Defenders outside from 5 seconds to 2 seconds, to prevent abusive spawn killing.
◾Terrorist Hunt Disarm Bomb – Reduced the maximum number of White Masks and reduced the wave sizes in

    PLAYER COMFORT
◾Increased the amount of characters available in chatbox from 32 to 128 characters.
◾Glaz scope visibility enhanced, with reduced glow and better contrast.

Out of all, what excites me the most is them actually introducing the auto kick feature for people that purposefully team kill.
This is the only major issue that's frustrating that iv ran into on Siege.

Hmmm I haven't bumped into any team killers, but that is a nice feature to be added!

Iv came across quite a few, some that have team killed at the start of a game and your left watching until next round and then next round the same thing again.

I haven't played on ranked yet so I could have backed out without it affecting any stats etc but im not one for quitting a game when iv joined one.

It totally ruins the game, people must find it hilarious to do this on people instead of actually playing the game and enjoying the game for what it is.
Hell if that's how small minded people get their kicks so be it,I personally laugh at them wasting gaming time that others would consider precious

Was doing some searching not to long ago and this was posted 3 hrs ago.
Rainbow Six Siege's first planned expansion, Operation Black Ice, has been slightly delayed. Ubisoft announced today that the DLC, which was originally planned for a January 2016 release, has been pushed back by a few weeks to February 2, 2016. The DLC is a part of the game's $30 Season Pass, which includes other expansions besides this one. The DLC is set to include two new characters, which players can unlock immediately if they have the pass. Without the pass, players will have to wait an additional week and spend real cash to unlock them. The two characters are a part of Canada's Joint Task Force counterterrorist organization and come equipped with new guns and gadgets. The DLC also adds some new weapon skins across every tier.
In addition, the DLC includes a new map, which will be free for everyone—so no one will feel left out. Ubisoft has also mentioned that there will be unspecified upgrades to the existing game.
