As a recruit do I wait for an invite from a member to join them or can I just join if there is space? I wasn't sure what the correct etiquette was and didn't want to jump into a game uninvited.

First time I get in a group it's playing Hardcore. Never played Hardcore before so apologizes to the teammate I shot.
May have stick to Core for a little while longer. The HUD has me completely spoiled.

Most of the games you jump into with CAG are going to be hardcore. Helps you learn to not be as trigger happy and pick your shots. CAG hold down an area close to spawn so there isn't a lot of running around, but I know how you feel because every so often it takes a second for the named to show above teammates and I mistake them for an enemy if there is a bunch of them funneling through a spot

don't worry about it. if anyone walks in front of my line of fire and i don't see their name and they didn't announce they are stepping in front of me, they are going down.... many of us are the same way.
once you get accustomed to how us HC players operate and learn our hold spots (and vice versa) it will get easier.

Comms will help the most with all of this. The more you talk in game with you team the easier and more accustomed you'll get with hardcore.
I switch back and forward between hardcore and core to play domination and the patient skills that hardcore gives me helps tremendously.I used to be a core player on ops 2 until I played with a few of the guys when I first joined and the gameplay was enough to have me keep playing.
