The only experience with the VA I had makes me not even want to make the claims for the disabilities I have... Any help?

Although this is an old post , I agree you should at the very least initiate your claim. Even if you are rated service connected with a 0 rating , If your condition worsens then they can back up to your filing date on appeal.

Don't let a bad experience rob you of what is rightfully yours. The VA had been yanking my chain for 2 years and I stuck it out. I just learned they are granting a hearing date for my claim to be heard. It isn't always that bad but if you go it alone the VA usually has the upper hand. Get a Service Rep. The VFW, DAV, American Legion, AMVETS they can all help.
