Looks like the switch between my XBox and router is about to die on me. Any suggestions for a replacement? Are are the so called "gaming" switches any better than a normal.

Basically it's a piece of networking equipment that that connects devices together on a computer network, by using packet switching to receive, process and forward data to the destination device. My router have four ports only and I have two desktops hard wired in with another piece of equipment on the third. The five port switch I have in the living room is connected to my router. This gives me five ports to plug in my XBox, DirecTV, etc... Current two of the five ports don't work and a third is going out.
I work in IT just not networking so I was interest to see what everyone else is running if they have a switch in their home network. There are a lot of "gaming" switches but I fear that's a lot of hype.
