Sponsorships

Okay so I am aiming this attention to higher people in the chain.

For our clan I had an idea of getting sponsorships for us so that we can gain popularity while at the same time giving companies popularities.

How I plan for us to do it is that if we can put up banners or links for people to find them and they do the same for us. Also if we have anyone that live streams or any of that have them give them shout outs. Kind of boost both ends, get them more to buy or whatever and they get us attention so we get more clan members.

Perks:
• More popularity for the clan
• Possibilities of discounts (if it’s a company for example that sells controllers we could get some discounts prices off for sponsoring them)
• Promotion for them. Boost their popularity and business.

If someone could get back to me about it that would be awesome and we can talk about it.

Gaining Sponsors can be a bumpy road and one that isn't for the faint of heart. Rejections will come and go, but the easiest way not to get any is to not try or just go away with your head in shame if they say "No." the first time....stay in their feeds, faces, inbox all the time so they know your name and see you're not giving up....dedication is a good virtue in a sponsored person, if you don't give up on them they know you won't give up on doing whatever you have to do to help their branding. But be careful who you get mixed up with because there are criminals in the gaming world (hackers, etc....I learned the hard way and Cheech saved my ass). Just always be confident, have a mission statement that doesn't waiver and fight for it.

A lot of sponsorships out there like to see teams on the competitive scene. The more you compete the more their brand/name is out there.

Now there are sponsorships out there that would sponsor the site as a whole and then you have a lot of name brand companies that sponsor a"competitive team " within the clan. A lot of those need to see tournament performance results and dedication to the game/cause.

Just some stuff to think about. If this becomes a thing I would be happy to help, as I have spent years teaching out to sponsors for sites

I agree, I was trying to assist him in his personal endeavor but getting the website Sponsors would be great considering Cheech not only pays for the website, but works his butt off to keep itnice and tidy. There are also Sponsors out there that would cover the entire clan, not that everyone would get something, but they would sponsor CAG as a whole. Then you have the grinding it out to become personally sponsored or having a Team/Teams sponsored whether playing competitively or to the MLG circuit-Traveling for Tournaments. It requies a lot of patience, team building, and getting to know the sponsors without coming right out jamming "Sponsor me/us" down their throat immediately. One idea I had is if there are the right guys, putting together a Competitive Team/MLG Team comprised of disabled vets.....it would hit a chord right off the bat.

To get a good sponsor and not just one that is only for "a team" requires a lot of forum activity and zero signs of any issues in the clan between clan members. In the past we have come within a simple signing of a contract for certain sponsors but the constant drama and issues that seem to always arise during the contract talks has kept us from landing very good sponsors.

Also, to get sponsors it takes a lot of hard work and people to advertise "US" on other websites while not breaking posting and advertisement rules. Everyone wants to get sponsored but they either fail to see or don't want to see how hard it is to first land the sponsor and second to keep that sponsor happy.

One more thing, a lot of sponsors want you to sign away certain site rights and basically become "part owner" of sites/forums that they agree to sponsor, "I" will never sign away anything to a sponsor just to have them sponsor us. If everyone here donated to the site we would have more money than sponsors could ever provide us with. Those donations would exceed any sponsorship without the rules and regulations that they require.

That is why Beastmode is trying so hard to get a membership going for not just clan members but also guests that register here at CAGCLAN.com. CAGCLAN.com could easily generate over $1000 if not $2000 a month which would be used for prizes and giveaways for everything from the member with the most "Fucking Hell Yeahs" to the member with the most posts for any given month.

This is why it is so important to be as active as possible on the forums, you guys don't see it but sponsors send people out to clan's websites all the time. We have had several sponsors come out of no where asking "ME" to give them our site's stats because they like what they see in terms of traffic and forum activity, but some douchebag always ends up stirring up shit and creating drama at any given time and then the sponsors see that and they back out very quickly.

Couldn't of said it better myself man. Ran into the same exact problems multiple times on my site that I co own. Actually was in a Skype call with the editor from game informer to do a spot on us in the magazine when some little pissed off d-bag jumped in and started the cursing the guy out for no reason. Long term talking the membership method would definitely be the better of the options
