So today was my third day of my new summer job... I need to get paid more... I'm so traumatized... Our director had a stroke today and excessive bleeding to his head.. I was there and almost had to perform cpr. Either an aneurysm or stroke. He's around 70. There was a puddle of blood due to the fact he's a tall and his head slammed into the small amount of cement on the tennis court. This was my first case of actually almost putting my training to use. I was shaken up only because I saw all of what happened, knew what to do, and it finally seeing live and not on a dummy... You get the point. I've been told every second counts and somewhat saved a life today since I went into super action mode.
Update: He's out of surgery. They weren't able to remove clots but injected clot busting medicine directly into area. Has restored blood flow to most of area and hoping that will fully restore. Will be in ICU for at least 3 days and then the will have better idea of long term effects. Will remain in hospital for up to 2 weeks. He is sedated and probably will remain till sometime tomorrow.
This was the tennis instructor(extra hours).. I was only meant to be a sports counselor and most of them aren't certified in cpr or first aid!
