For question 1
I run my cable box through my system and all my wife has to do is have it on tv on the system and the cable box remote does the rest... Just is nice so as to not have to switch through AV settings on the tv...
Question 2
Don't quote me on this but since everything runs through your XBONE you should have no issues whatsoever running your home theater through it as well... As for me personally I do not have any issues with this and as soon as my systems turns on it automatically starts on the tv and will turn both my tv and home theater system on when it turns on and upon a power down command it will power both down with it
I find all these features very useful and convenient as when my sports show is on tv or the big game but I want to play I will just snap my tv to the side and have my show in the corner whilest still being able to play game or anything else I may be doing....
