Quick update everyone read !!!
Remember you guys, your forums here self maintain themselves by doing scheduled tasks every hour all day ...
These are scheduled tasks that the whole site itself executes to prevent the site from overloading, updates the thread views and member profiles and just about everything you can think of ...
The time during which these scheduled tasks are running the most is the first 5 minutes of every hour every hour ... if you see that the site is slow in the first 5 minutes of any hour wait 5 minutes 10 is better then you can start clicking away ...
There is no way around this, the only other way I could do this is shutting the site down every day for an hour or so to run these tasks but there is no need to do this if we all respect our site's/forum's server ..
Also, if you are trying to access the site and forums through xbox live, you will run into problems ... why? xbl uses Internet Explorer which is a shitty ass browser and "I" don't support internet explorer .. the site is best viewed using firefox then chrome ... try to stay away from internet explorer all together ...
I would say sorry for the inconvenience, but it's actually not one at all .. the only other thing would be to get a dedicated server but the traffic and activity doesn't justify paying $200 a month for a dedicated server .. thank you guys !!
This website runs on vbulletin which self maintains itself by running schedule tasks that due everything from updating profiles with new added information, updating threads and new posts, reputation given and taken, fucking hell yeahs and the list goes on and on.
Most of these schedule tasks happen in the first 20 minutes of every hour. Some happen every hour and some only every 24 hours.
If you guys see that the site is running a little slow don't freak out and start clicking on other links or continue to hit the refresh button or continue to due any type of search especially from the new link which is in lime green underneath the navigation menu bar.
I have mentioned many times that when you guys request awards/medals you only need to hit the submit button once and not 5 times because it is not going through ... to you it might seem like it's not going through but once you hit the submit button once you don't need to hit it again.
When doing searches or getting the new posts, don't refresh it over and over again ... from this point on anyone who continues to be a jerk and refreshes a page over and over again will be banned and removed from the clan .... this type of behaviour is just like IP flooding a website and can become a serious matter legally ... DO NOT get caught flooding the website, if you feel like a joker I will find out who you are .. I already have about 56 IPs of people who continued to refresh pages over and over again for what ever reason ...those IPs will be monitored and if those IPs are seen causing problems I will do what is necessary to help keep our site running smoothly like it always has in the past ....
Awards and Medals are only going to be done on weekends once again ... I and Blame will probably be the only ones doing awards/medals form this point on.
Promotions and profile updates which include billet, unit and rank changes are probably only going to be made by me from this point on as well.
I don't know if recent events have caused some idiots to push their luck and attack our website, but I guarantee you that anyone who is found interrupting this site's performance in any way will be dealt with accordingly and I will prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.
I spend too much time providing those who appreciate a gaming environment like CAGCLAN.com to allow an idiot or idiots to ruin the fun for others.
So once again, if you guy see the site loading slowly don't click away .... allow the site to build up it's resources and come back in 5 minutes or more and the site will be running at full strength and stamina once again. Treat your site/forums with respect you guys .. treat it like if it was you who is paying for it ... would you want someone fucking around with what you have spent so much time on building?
