ok im reading and trying to fully grasp the concept of how to join. I will be on at about 130pm central time today so im hoping to play with someone for the "tryout" but what all is required for the tryouts to be able to be called a full member?

Now that you have registered you need to fill out an application (top of page in the tabs it says "Applications". If you have already done that, then start adding the members in your preferred game on the console you use. Get in game and a member will explain the process.

You got a welcome letter from Alpha company. Read this letter carefully It tells you want you need to do. I would also subscribe to this thread as it is a good reference for many things.
There are list of people you need to send XBL friend requests to. They will explain how to become a member to you.
