To be a non-voting associate member of The Royal Canadian Legion. http://www.legion.ca
Actually I signed both my wife and I up. Although not a service member I support what the Legion does. Supports our veterans and our community.
"The Royal Canadian Legion is Canada’s largest Veteran support and community service organization. Our more than 300,000 members in over 1400 Branches across Canada make a difference in the lives of Veterans and their families, provide essential services within our communities, and Remember the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our Country."
I did it for a few reasons:
1) I believe in what they do
2) I like supporting my community and I know the Legion has been suffering from decreased membership
3) Its a great place to hang out. Pool tables, darts, sports tv's, decent food, and a decent bar. Reasonable prices and no idiot bar crowd
Any fellow Canadians reading this I ask you to just have a look at joining. $50 a year to access any Legion in the country is more than reasonable. Showing the veterans they have our support is priceless.
