Hello Folks!

So, Bungie in all their wisdom when designing the clan support for Destiny that did not allow you to create a clan till launch. So we made a group.

Whats the difference might you ask? I asked the same thing. I have acquired this forum post from the Bungie Forums regarding this.

A clan is a subset within a group. But I'll break this down so that makes a bit more sense.


Groups are smaller sections of Bungie.net wherein like-minded players can mingle, make friends, and avoid the larger forums if they want to. It is also a way to build a small community or to gather an already existing community (a group of friends, for example) under one umbrella wherein you can socialize and share as you would on most other social media websites/forums.


Clans add a competitive element to the groups. What they are is an integrated part of Bungie.net that is the equivalent to creating a sports team or flying a banner under which the group members may fight. This is why you are only allowed to join one clan but can be part of many groups. Clans are also an easy and fine way to find players quickly for raids, strikes, and PvP matches as well as scheduling times for many members to meet up for those events. This is particularly important for the Iron Banner and raids because they take more than just bull-headed determination and require more of a team focus, which the clans definitely build themselves upon.


Right now, clans are disabled to the masses until the launch of Destiny. When you leave the Tower for the first time, you can also join a clan. That would be an opportune time for you to create your clan if you plan to as you would be able to see the fruits of your labor almost immediately.

SO with this being said, I need everyone who has signed up to go BACK into the group wall, and there is an option to join the clan. This is REQUIRED if you want to do raids with the clan and get the achievement. I apologize for this, it is out of my control. But this is required step to get the achievement for doing raids with clan members. And I imagine that we will gain from it in other ways as well.

If you have not yet signed up to our group or clan, make sure to do that ASAP. I check the thread everyday sometimes twice.

yah its a button on top of the group page that says "set as xbox clan" and you will see it show up instantly on your xbox. I just did it today
