Ok i have a tech ? for you all..

Is it ok to lay the xbox 360 down on its side? I have been told that its not good for it. I have the 360 slim..

it is ment to be on its side. Thats the proper way for it to cool itself

Yes, it is meant to be on its side, but that puts stress on the motor of the hd drive to make it spin without going against gravity, so no it is not good to put it on it's side... lay it flat but do this ...

Grab 4 bottle caps, use either Velcro tape or some other strong tape and put one on each corner of the xbox, that will elevate the 360 enough to allow it to cool down ... you can also do this for your laptops instead of buying coolers ..

I once used my x360 slim MW3 console standing up and it scratched my disc. Ever since then I always lay it down...

I did the same thing that OnixEwok did, put it on it's side and I had my Rainbow Six game all scratch up and actually it broke the fucking disc inside the 360 ...it made a noise like a fucking car wreck happened inside my room which scared the shit out of me ... the fucking 360 was even smoking !!!! lol ...

i have a nyco intercooler on my 360. never ever gets too hot. awesome piece of kit

I haven't had a cooler on any of my 360s for ages and it works fine ... the first three 360s I had died cuz of the heat sink issue ..this last one I have had now for 4 years and it's running smooth ...
