    Yes, it is meant to be on its side, but that puts stress on the motor of the hd drive to make it spin without going against gravity, so no it is not good to put it on it's side... lay it flat but do this ...

    Grab 4 bottle caps, use either Velcro tape or some other strong tape and put one on each corner of the xbox, that will elevate the 360 enough to allow it to cool down ... you can also do this for your laptops instead of buying coolers ..

    Scared the shit out of me too. Luckily I was sitting next to my and immediately yanked the power cord, layed it down and plug it back in open up the tray. But at least my disc was just scratched, nothing $3.99 at the HockShop couldnt fix.. Thankfully
