So even though when you lay it down on the 4 little feet it is designed to sit on there is no vents on the underside..

But since I run my unit on a carpeted floor I was still concerned over proper airflow and potential dust and fiber intake. Which would be real fucking bad.

So what I do is take the 4 riser feet from my Wii fit board, the things that look like grey pucks. Flip them down so the cup or hollowed out part is facing the floor, this puts the rubber grips facing up. Put the rubber feet of the Xbox onto the rubber grips of the pucks you faced up.

Congratulations, your console is cooler and you finally found a good use for that Wii fit board...lol

I haven't had a cooler on any of my 360s for ages and it works fine ... the first three 360s I had died cuz of the heat sink issue ..this last one I have had now for 4 years and it's running smooth ...

i had problems with all past xbox's overheating so didn't wanna risk it when i got the 360 slim, the temp difference is very noticeable to the touch when turned on as opposed to not

Oh it is dude ... in my room the temperature raises by almost 15 degrees when I have the 360 on and my tv ... the 360 alone will raise the room's temp by like 5-7 degrees ....

I did the same thing that OnixEwok did, put it on it's side and I had my Rainbow Six game all scratch up and actually it broke the fucking disc inside the 360 ...it made a noise like a fucking car wreck happened inside my room which scared the shit out of me ... the fucking 360 was even smoking !!!! lol ...

Scared the shit out of me too. Luckily I was sitting next to my and immediately yanked the power cord, layed it down and plug it back in open up the tray. But at least my disc was just scratched, nothing $3.99 at the HockShop couldnt fix.. Thankfully

I always keep mine layed down with nothing around it. I have the new slim and haven't had any problems with it.

i have one of these on my 360 slim.... awesome piece of kit, i never have to worry about over heating
