dude this feature sounds pretty neat when you are trying to convince someone to buy it:
The game is being designed to allow Players to invite friends to play cooperatively even if those friends do not own the game. To do this eligible players will receive ten invites which they can then send out to said friends who will be able to download a version of the game and play alongside the host player on a trial basis.

If winning isn't everything, then why do they keep score?

Every console has issues at first. It takes a while to get everything in order. The 360 wasn't perfect when it came out. And it took awhile to perfect. PC games have issues, too. And you have to constantly upgrade your hardware. Then in say a year, some Badass game comes out, you have to upgrade your video card, because the one you bought with your $500 PC (will be a trick in itself) is not that great. So time to drop another $200 or so. Then, there is some spoiled rich kid with a ton of cash and the best video card ever seeing crisp fps rates and always badass hardware. In a couple years, the now $700 investment will not be as good. Actually worse. And then on both fronts you have to worry about lag, but at least on the console, you are only worrying about 1 factor, the internet speed. I work on computers, build computers, fix computers, always around a computer. I have a computer. Decent PC. Its older. It has a AMD Quad Black 970 I think. I believe 4 or 8 GB of RAM, and like 3 TB of space for my movies and TV shows. Last year after not having a video card for 4 years, I bought a refurb from Newegg for $200. And now I can play some games. But for what I play mostly older games, it works. I picked up Destiny on Xbox One a few weeks ago. Looks awesome. Picked up BF4 long time ago also, awesome. If i try and run BF4 on my PC, it will laugh at me and then piss itself. That's my point. When you have the funds to do the upkeep PC gaming is wonderful. But I would rather invest once in a console WITH a Warranty. And be in a less risk situation where I only need to buy the games. There are pros and cons to everything, but this is why I am a console gamer for the majority.
I am glad you are considering XO, Mr Cheech. It is a wad of cash, and I ALWAYS recommend getting the warranty. Gamestop's warranty is nice, if you have ANY issues with it, you take it there, and they give you a new one. When I had a X360, I would take it in every year. Invest 50$ and always have a brand new box. I only ever had 1 RROD, and that was 8 months after Gamestop went through the spiff of not doing warranties for awhile. But I was able to fix it and trade it in for almost half the cost of the newer 360 with the HDMI port. Kinda broke their protocol but they did not catch it, so it worked out for me. Either way man, the warranty is a good thing. I hope you get it. If so I will add Far Cry 4 to my list, I have room for 1 more game this season with the delay of BF Hardline.

The last few times I have looked on steam, all they sell is pre builds now. The difference they are admitting the game is not done. For the most part its the same game.
And even every 2-4 years. What kind of cost are we talking? Still on the $500 PC. It will be a $100-$200 investment say every 4 years. So the X360 lasted 10 years. Thats an extra $400, in the long run. Either way you slice it, to keep up with the newest games like you can do with console, you need to spend more than that on all fronts. I am not saying there is not a benefit, I am saying if this is based on gameplay to cost, the PC is not the way to go.
