Monday and tuesday was the day of the greatest amount of luck I've ever had in a videogame.
In total, I got 6 Legendary Engrams, in which 4 gave legendaries/exotic.
Vanguard Gauntlets (Armada Type 3), Vanguard Helmet (Monitor Type 2), Light Beware (Fusion Rifle, Vanguard Issue) and Thunderlord (Exotic LMG).
Having already purchased the Vanguard chestpiece, and getting enough Vanguard points to buy the Leg Armor, I'm now light level 26. So if anybody needs another one for the raid, I could do be there on friday-saturday-sunday.
I wish I had luck. I got two legendary engrams and it gave me two rare items that are way worse then my gear now.
Lol...same here man. I played a quick 20 mins on Mars patrol...got two purple drops...creamed myself. I frantically went to the cryptograph dude and it was two rare items that we indeed worse than what I had.
I cried a little.
So still mid 23 for me!

I was pretty lucky during the first few days to get many strange coins and was able to purchase exotic guantlets from the Fri/Sat only vendor. That has helped.
For Merz, I hate to say it but the Crucible does give out some decent blue armor (i.e. with light) once you reach level 20. Also, how's your vanguard rank / marks. At rank 2, you can start buying legendary.
Sadly, I won't be able to Raid this week. But I'll be home next week and ready to eff shit up.

Yeah, the stats on the first group to finish it ... they averaged about a 3 to 4 K/D, against AI!!! Roughly over 1000 deaths between them all. Well, legendaries will only get you to around 27 (guessing) ... you are going to need some exotics to push higher.
FYI, it seems that at level 26, you'll get an Exotic Bounty after turning in your first bounty. You pick one of three paths (not obvious but they are for a Hand Cannon, Pulse Rifle, or Shotgun). The Exotic Bounty has multiple challenges required to unlock it. I'm on the last challenge for Hand Cannon.
