Comcast-Time Warner Merger

Comcast is about to purchase Time Warner Cable, after spending 300,000 dollars lobbying democratic senate and congress members, as well as the FCC...



This will mean that Comcast will run the internet, phone, and cable for an amazing 60% of American homes. Comcast recently topped the top five WORST companies in America for service, support, and ethics.



There are petitions around to try and stop this merger, I urge you to find one and sign it. The freedom and reliability of our internet, phone, and cable are at stake, as well as prices. This will allow them to raise prices with having less competition for customers to switch to when unsatisfactory service, or outrageous fees rear their head, as is inevitably coming with this merger. They also have contracts with several government agencies to provide ANY information transferred through them that is asked for, warrent, HSA, or not.



This would be a serious impact on our wallets, freedoms, and privacy of information.

Regardless the company my Man, if there is a warrant they have to give out your information, shit even they presented me with a warrant I would have to give out information that is collected here about you guys ...

The merger will have very little impact, COMCAST is actually a better internet provider than Time Warner is, every company is bad with customer service because they outsource their customer service all the time so we can't and wont get away from that ... As for them raising prices, if they do then they will be losing out not us, Verizon FioS is already planning ahead for all of this and believe me when I say that they will be coming up big time with promotional offers to get us to switch to Verizon if COMCAST gets cocky ...

I worked for DISH Network a few year back and they were supposed to merge with COMCAST, ATT and a few others and the mergers never happened, this is not a merger but COMCAST buying Time Warner out actually so the information being thrown around is not all correct, they are buying out them out not merging with them ...

People are getting paranoid already because of rumors and jealousy over this buyout ...

Here one reason why this should never happen. I remember when Time Warner merged and that almost didn't happen. When it did they became the largest company with the biggest overall market share. Now they want to become even bigger. They will have way to much control over too many things and are blurring the line between monopoly. Capitalism is slowly suffering because these deals are being made and WE the consumer are being manipulated to think that this is a good idea. If your internet sucks because of the company you use switch but when the same company owns 6-10 of the competition then you're option are very limited. This screams bad idea. BTW the last time I had Comcast I switched after a month.

What you guys do not know is that Comcast is dropping 300,000 subscribers to make this take over happen. They are also only really going for the NY, KC, Utah Region for one reason and that is NY and KC is the the top 2 biggest Timer Warner locations. if you think i am wrong i am sorry im not i work for Comcast as a technician. Do i agree with you about the prices of course i do. But you have to remember that there is still Direct TV, and Google. Obviously there are other cable and internet providers but they do not comes close to what we offer. As of right now NO ONE!! comes close to our internet speeds. Also Direct TV is our #1 competition based upon statistics i have seen first hand they are our biggest competition.

Where is the proof that they made a deal that no warrants, no HSA is required for this ? ....

Again, this is not a merger and this is not Time Warner getting bigger lol !!!! This is COMCAST buying out Time Warner and the deal is still not final ...both New York and CAlifornia are fighting this buyout, so much misinformation about this , wait till there is definite confirmation about the deal before you guys start freaking out lol ...

I have had Time Warner for 10 years now, before that it was CableVision and before that it was Adelphia, I have never had problems with them and if I have it has been minor problems such as a burned out splitter, a barrel in the lines or a burned out modem....

Even if this "merger" happens lol ... The servers that Time Warner uses on their customers would still be in use by COMCAST to server those customers under Time Warner accounts, it makes no sense to spend money on servers for customers who already have very good internet service ... the only thing that could change the customer support and that is the only problem I have with Time Warner and really any fucking company for that matter .... Everyone's customer service sucks ass !!!!

This is my internet speedtest right now by the way ... and it is considered peek time right now ..notice the 1 ms pink ? Fuck yeah baby! Time Warner at it's best !!! and the server is located over 50 miles in Los Angeles and I am in Riverside lol ...
