Warning About Facebook And Twitter Apps For Your Phones

Most of you guys know how anal I am about personal information and security here on our forums and what I do to protect your information from idiots and assholes on the internet.

Well here is a warning about both the Facebook and Twitter apps for your phones. For a while now we have heard about Facebook being able to listen in on our conversations and even take pictures without us giving the app permission to do so. There have been many people online now with reports and complaints filed about facebook and twitter taking pictures with their phones and recording their conversations both when making calls and through video chat apps. These articles are quickly being taken down but all the complaints are true! Here is a video for you guys to see and you guys can judge for yourselves! I already removed facebook apps and twitter apps from my mobile phone and I advise and encourage all of you to do the same!

And this is not the only app that is doing this you guys, just about every app that you download and install on your phone is able to do this kind of shit, but where I draw the line is when an app can just listen in on my conversations and take pictures or screenshots of my shit ...that means if you use online banking with an app on your phone these apps could very well be taking screenshots of your shit! ....

Most of these apps get payed to give out the information of registered members such as phone contacts, emails and all that shit ... Facebook can deny it all they want, but they do sell our information to other business and that is why we get weird emails on occasion form someone you know with articles for us to click which most of the time end up being scams or viruses ...

There is no reason why any of these apps should need access to your contacts or be able to listen to our conversations on phone or video chats or read our text messages or take pictures without our permission ...

i brought up my settings screen and whatnot like he did but my phone doesnt pop that alert up about doing stuff without permission

Thanks Cheech for this post and warning. The new messenger app for Facebook makes you download the app, because there is no way around it. They make it so you have too download the app.

Thankfully for me, this is not so much a problem on the iPhone. Access to contacts can be blocked, and I'm relatively sure Apple with their policies wouldn't allow things like recording phone calls. Also, generally, Apps are kept in their own "sandbox", so they generally can't look at each other. Though, at their latest conf, Apple spoke a bit about apps sharing info, so maybe that's about to change ... Freaky shit either way. I'll be keeping my eyes open.

and it can and has happend on the iphone as well. but i just deleted the messanger app and for soem reason my facebook messages when back to normal and i could use the old messages like before that app
