Still no word on Heists for GTA Online following Take-Two's earnings call

Rockstar Games' parent-company Take-Two yesterday held its Q1 2015 earnings call, but sadly we learned nothing new about the future of Grand Theft Auto Online, particularly the eagerly awaited Heists.


Take-Two CFO Lainie Goldstein did say hint that "there may be some free downloadable content" that's given out during the year, but any major announcements in terms of new features is left up to Rockstar.


"We're not really able to give much more color on GTA Online. It's not for want of excitement. We have a great deal of excitement. But when we start getting into content and marketing announcements, that's really driven by the label," added Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick.


"We have said though, and I want to reiterate, that the release of GTA Online has been extraordinarily favorable for consumers and for us. We're immensely grateful to Rockstar for the incredible product that they delivered, the incredible consumer experience. And we remain optimistic about what GTA Online can be both for current gen and next-gen."


Back in June, Rockstar provided a brief statement on the delayed release of heists, which were originally supposed to be implemented in the spring. "We are very sorry for the delay, and are working hard to bring them to you as soon as we can," Rockstar said. "Please know that we are focused as always on making the best possible content for you to play and we are thankful to all of you for your patience, understanding and support."


We will don't know when Heists will be implemented in GTA Online, but I suspect Rockstar is waiting until the release of the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game to announce it.

Almost a fucking year later and still no fucking heists ! While they are releasing tons of DLC for GTA 5 and for free, it is still shit that we shouldn't even be paying for in the first place. They released the game unfinished and all the stuff they are releasing as DLC is shit that should of been in the game already. These assholes are not stupid, they knew they fucked up and are masking their fuck up and trying to make us feel better for not being able to implement heists in the game by giving us all these free DLCs....FUCK THAT SHIT !!

I was really having fun playing GTA 5 online for about a month and most of us did play it and kicked some serious ass, but not having Heists in the game is really a fucking buzz kill !!!

What do you guys think about this bullshit?

I'm not a gta person AT ALL but If they say they are gonna release something... RELEASE it!!!!
There would be so much uproar if CoD did something like this!!!
And if they are waiting for next-gen consoles game to be released then that is just shady/bad business

I think Rockstar and Microsoft are in cahoots with this bs ... MS has not gotten the expected results with XBOX 1 sales and I am pretty sure they offered Rockstar a deal they couldn't refuse in order to help MS boost their sales come the holiday seaons when I am almost positive they will finally release "heists" but only on next gen and exclusively on the XBOX 1 first ...

The heists are firmly locked away in there terabytes of files only to be used once people stop buying in game cash with real money.

They may also just wait till the next gen version comes out, but I doubt that........I highly doubt that.

R* is a good company and has put out some epic games. But when it all comes down to it they are just another company looking to make money. GTA V sold hella good and still is, even more so now because people have already fully pre order NG versions.

Anyway back to the heists. As I said, it's all about the money. They have made it RETARDED to earn money the right way in that game, the economy is utter shit.

E.X. You play a lvl 5 mission:

Yay, you beat it, here is 1500. Go buy your self something nice.

Hm, you need ammo or a new gun? Well that new gun you want is 25000 so keep grinding that mission.



So a lot of people have just started giving R* 10, 20, 60, even 100$ more just for in game cash that is gone just as fast as the bought it. So, what do people do? They buy more cause they want the best guns, cloths, cars, houses, etc.

So in the end, the heist DLC is NOT the biggest priority for them right now, and why the hell should it be? There getting real money up the ass cause people keep paying for in game cash and keep buying the game.
