    Internet Speed And Reliability


    Hi everyone! I just got my internet fixed today and a new modem installed and my speeds are up to what i'm paying for finally. Actually a little over. What ISP do you have and what do you think of them?

    I have RCN and I think they're great. They have no contracts, great American customer service and competitive pricing. Also, if I have an issue they always check things out and get it fixed as soon as possible.

    Furthermore, if you want. Go on over to speedtest.net, screenshot your results and then post them here!

    Mine should be fine for online gaming. But I was only getting 12Mbps out of my possible 25 with all the newer tech I have running. I know it wasn't any of my devices. So they came out and fixed it today.

    Anything with 5 mbps in upload is fine for gaming ..the download speeds you can get away with if you only have 10-15 mbps ... also being hardlined (cable) not wifi or wireless from your router or modem to your console is better ... even if you have 10-15 mbps upload speed using wireless for your consoles is going to create video and audio noise at some point during the session and give you lag ...

    Yeah, sadly wifi is my only option. But it works well now for the most part. I was debating on getting a higher tier package but i don't seem to need it now after they replaced the modem.

    There are times when I was younger where I was running a 35ft cable from my router to my xbox. Using the wired method is always the way to go, but I gotcha man.

    I have a company called Mediacom. And am on the 50D/5U plan. Its not to shabby. I DL stuff here and there and the bandwidth is nice.
