Wouldn't you have to also specify which game the perk came from, since they've had the same name but different effects? or am I remembering incorrectly?

SitRep because every single player in Ghost uses I.E.D's
true. I remember when everyone was balanced. BF4 is an example of this, no boosts at all. (guns are different, vehicles as well, but you get what I am saying)
Sorry Cheech but I disagree. Perks revolutionized COD multiplayer beginning with COD4. Balancing them is the key to having great gameplay. I do think that the Perks in Ghost are balanced and one can counter another or you get a trade-off by having a certain one equipped. BTW you could disable all your Perks and go to war without them if you don't like em' that much...lol! This got me thinking how about a private match with some CAG Doggs with perks disabled. Bro ..you are talking to a mother fawken Veteran player here who started with Counter Strike, SOCOM and Ghost Recon games which had no perks and those games kicked some serious ass....
COD made its games easy for anyone to play with the perks ...it is a pick-up-n-play game which any person can just pick it up and within hours be very good at it... the perks completely unbalance everything ... what they should do is actually give us gear such as lighter boots and equipment, battle suits and shit like that to make us more stealthier during games, not a fucking perk called "dead slience" ... or vest that would slow you down but give you more protection like in Rainbow Six Vegas, that game had the equipment down to almost perfection!
If you want to aim faster and be more quick with your weapons, they should allow us to customize our weapons like in Ghost Recon: Future Soldier where you can interchange just about every aspect of your weapon ....
There is just nothing real about COD games, it is an arcade style shooter not a simulation shooter like RAinbow, Ghost Recon and SOCOM were ...
The only reason I play cod games is because the majority of CAG's members play it... I would rather play Battlefield but the horrible squad system and even worse,continuous updates that make the weapons perform differently each time is just not good for me... by the time i get used to one update (patch) another comes along .. I hardly get to play now and unfortunately the pick-up-and-play of COD games is what's more logical for me even though I fucking hate COD games ..
So no...fuck perks lol and killstreaks ...lol ..

I see your point with the equipment stuff and that actually makes more real-life sense BUT if you replace the perk system at this point it wouldn't be COD anymore.
