basically just wanted to get a discussion going here after seeing this and see where others are at. now, i really don't think i need to ask, i think 97-100% of you guys on XB1 are getting this right away, probably have your preorders paid off and all dat.
i was on the fence about Watch Dog's. the E3 Trailer was amazing but we all should know by now that the trailer's are NEVER what you get. after seeing some thing's that i was curious about my decision is going to be a pass for a few reasons.
1) Lack of Multiplayer Team Based game modes.
we all know that with a game like this once you beat the campaign, which may only last a few days, multiplayer is all you have left. some games we buy just for multi like CoD or BF and some, even though they have multiplayer, are a single player only. throw in the AI getting dumbed down and more of a free for fall focused MP and i'm good on dat.
2) Vehicles
A) the damage model. this is next gen right? big powerful console? why can't a game with vehicles that will be transporting us all around the world still have a original Need for Speed model? lame.
B) handling. i was really hoping for an simulator style with a game like this. we all know GTA has always been arcade style and always will be, it's what we expect and to a degree love. with this however, a game which really is focusing on the graphic side of things, the driving should be closer to simulation. i don't want exact Forza/GT/PGR handling but at the same time i don't want Need for Speed.
3) Environments
don't make an open world game if i can't fully explore everything. just don't. also the lack of destruction is troubling for a "next gen" game.
in the end, i'm kind of disappointed. so far i haven't seen anything release that is tapping the potential of what these consoles are supposed to be capable of. i expected the majority of these games to be an impressive difference over the last generation of console's/games and i still haven't seen anything that personally knocks my socks off. maybe i'm just hard to please but i think it has a lot to do with all the hype about all the power and all the other hoopla i was fed about these next gen consoles. at this point i really wished i would have taken that 500 and invested it into my PC and waited until this December/January or later as most of the games i am looking forward too are scheduled for a first quarter or later release. a few more disappointments and i WILL be getting rid of this console.
