i myself just listened to some of the audio yesterday, pretty racist stuff. as far as punishment, they can't force him to sell, they can only fine him up to 1 million which dude is worth 1.9 billion i think. pretty sure they'll suspend him but will that really work? will a stubborn old man change now? i guess he doesn't know he own's a team in L.A.

It's pretty fucking stupid if you ask me ...for the media to even keep on with this shit is just more ignorant that Sterling himself. I can't stand the media for one and secondly, no sports league will ever do shit about one of their owners saying racists shit in private.

That was clearly a set up, I am not justifying it at all, but he does pay all his black players enough money to tolerate this idiots personal opinions. It has been well known for years that he has had similar issues in the past and yet the league still allows him to be owner and the players still play for him. So no one to blame but themselves for being "SELLOUTS" ...

And set up or not, like I said above, these players now all of the sudden want to speak out? They should of done something years ago when this idiot first showed signs of this bullshit ...

All these years the players have not had any problems receiving their contracts from this asshole, now because of one fucking phone call people everywhere not just players and in sports want his head? LOL ....

In 2006 when he was accused of discrimination, that is when the League should of done something. Too bad the NBA doesn't freak out like the NFL where they "will" fuck you in the ass if you even say something or do something in your own spare time ....

All these owners and players, because they have money are treated differently than us. Money talks and as long as they can pay off the court system no one really gives a fuck. Players get away with murders, DUIs, rapes, domestic abuse, yet the average hard working blue collar idiot gets 20 years prison time or 10 years probation and wont be able to get a job even at McDonalds. Yes they keep paying these players millions, the owners make billions and why should they do something right?

This guy will just simply pay a fucking million dollar fine, get away with everything and the players will still be happy to play for him and get their million dollar contracts ...

His enterprise will surely go down though. There will be at least a few good players that will refrain from signing with the Clippers, and not only the african-americans. Eventually, the Clippers' rep will go down a lot, especially if this continues

this whole thing brings me to another thought which is yeah, our society has come a long way from what it was in the 60's but then something like this happens and it makes me wonder - how far have we truly come as a society?

The only possible way I can explain that is the fact that yes, our younger population has been able to live in a multiethnic/ cultural society but as for the older population, I don't think this is the case. I know for me, being in school, I have been used to seeing a bunch of different people and cultures and accept them for what they are. But the reality that they lived 50 years ago is different. I know personnally that my grandparents are this way: they always think back on how their society used to be completely white, and now all these "immigrants" are stealing their jobs houses etc. (Which is bullshit of course)
