ok i wanted to give some tips on how i play the Assault class especially when it comes to XB1 Conquest and your the lone medic in the squad.
the first tip for any class playing anyway is CHECK YOUR MAP. lately i try to say that when i see enemies on the map especially when they are in close to my squadmates. there was a member here awhile back who did the same thing and it trained me to be more vigilant and observant of my minimap and i'm hoping the same will happen.
1. Choice of Primary Weapon
personally, finding a gun that remains accurate at range with a suppressor is key to any class in 64 player servers, even Rush, Dom and TDM. you can perform successful flanking far more often as well as staying off the mini map. i would suggest picking a gun that you can be accurate at range with a suppressor. some personal favorites are the ACE23, AR160 and AK12. ultimately it will be whatever gun you are most comfortable with but those are some good starting points.
2. Where to be when moving from point to point and capping flags
stay in the back and stay alive. let your engi's or supports be your point men find out where the enemy is. hopefully they can get the kill and not die but if someone does die, clean it up and then make your revive. when your squad is capping flags its important that they don't bunch up together in the same spot, makes for an easy wipe. even if they are try to be away from them and stay out of sight. hide if you have to. if everyone gets wiped just stay hidden so everyone can spawn back on you and try again. let people know your clean for a spawn as well.
also keep your eye on who's alive and who isn't. this will help you know when its time to hide. hopefully your squadmate's will call out their deaths and if they are clean for a revive but if they don't you need to have good situational awareness.
remember, its pointless for you to be a medic if you rush in with everyone and/or get wiped with everyone else. you might as well play recon and sit in the base and snipe. your main goal is to keep your squad alive or be a clean spawn, not to have the best K/D in the server for the round or be a hero. play your class.
3. To Revive or not to Revive?
this is a bit of a follow up to things i mentioned above. you need to know when to hide and when to revive.
first, hopefully your squadmates will say if they are clean for a revive or not. if they don't then it's up to you to determine if you will bring them back to life successfully or just get both of yourselves killed.
as far as tips for when to revive - if your not sure if you should or not, let them die and hide and be a spawn point for them but also let me know what your doing. if you see the player who killed them on the map and think you can win the battle and have squadmates alive to spawn on then give it a shot. otherwise let your teammate spawn in and try again.
AS A COMBAT MEDIC KEEP A DEFENSIVE MINDSET, MARK SMART DECISIONS, DON'T BE A HERO AND DON'T GET WIPED!
