I actually like the open forum policy. Even with all these perceived "issues" that keep getting brought up, they're getting discussed and not being oppressed by management. I used to be a leading member of a very large financially-oriented forum that had very big issues with censorship, and it ultimately lead to me and several other very high profile members leaving. Hell, even a very large metalforum I used to go to (www.metalforums.com - now defunct) actually left because of the same issues. We left with many of the core members because of the owner's god-complex and formed our own community that is still running now with the exact same core membership over 10 years later.
I don't think these things should be discussed in open view of the public or recently registered members, but that's what the "members only" sections are about. When given access to that section after ranking up, you are being trusted to read all of the information and make your own determinations about what happened.
