I found that playing on my smaller monitor I do better than playing on my big tv's .

I've exclusively gamed primarily on big TVs for about 8 years now, and I'll say that when I play on small tvs (40" and lower) my reaction time plummets, especially for at-range engagements. The only difference is that I tend to do better at high-speed style racing games (like Need for Speed or Burnout) on smaller tv's.
A bigger TV with a viewing distance small enough to require you to move your eyes in order to see everything has many advantages, namely in that you're not needlessly looking around with a controller in order to see what's already in your field of view anyhow. This means that if you see something to the far right you can move to it instantly without really thinking about it, where as if you're scanning with the joystick already, you won't notice the threat until you actually look at it.
People tend to look where their reticle is while playing shooters, and in my experience, that's just not enough, especially in a game like BF4. The larger TV lets you see all around your field of view much more clearly than targeting everything with your reticle.
