Very Confused

Ok guys here's my dilemma.. Ok so everyone knows my internet is out so I turned on my 360 and poof it's still connected to MY wifi which is clearly turned off so I check to see who's wifi I picked up on and it says it's connected to my wifi so I turn on my xb1 to see if it will connect. No luck on xb1 but my 360 is still connected and I have no idea how or why it's connected??? I'm not complaining but want to know why this is lol it's crazy

Ok, if you have your modem turned on it will always be connected to that wifi regardless of whether you have internet or not, it's just the signal from the wi-fi device you are getting.

Now, when you do get your internet back, you are going to have to power cycle your devices, your 360, your modem and or router if you have a combo or single devices for your modem and router.

So you have to unplug your router and or modem from the back for about 1 minute, this will allow it to pick up the new ip address since you are most likely going to get a new one assigned since it was disconnected for a few days.

After a minute, plug the power cord back into your modem and if you have a router then do that 2nd.

Again, your 360 will be connected to your wi-fi regardless of whether you have internet access or not.
