hey guys,
i have just finished earning my 600 dollars to get t a new console and am wondering what i should get?
I know CAG is a mainly-Xbox oriented clan but i want you guys to give me unbiased opinions of each console and whether or not i should get one or the other!

in my opinion I would say get the one.
the XB1 is a great console if you like all the entertainment features. they have got a great, seamless transition from game to netflix or amazon video to game and so-on. personally i like the Xbox exclusives far more the PS4's.
right now, there really aren't any games except for maybe BF4 that are pushing what the consoles are capable of. The Witcher 3 looks like it is but that doesn't launch for a while yet.
PS4 is more powerful, drops slightly less frames and recovers from frame drops a little quicker. it has been said it is more of a pure gaming console.
Wii U is where its at

my deciding factor was the exclusive's for each console. the next Gran Turismo wasn't coming out until next year for PS4 so that didn't help.
I would go xb1 too...simply for the game lineup...Halo, Titanfall to name just two.
I do plan on owning both at some point tho...want Resogun!

Overall they are so close in hardware specs you have to look at other factors to determine what you want.
Would you use kinect? Voice commands are pretty cool, i am surprised at how often I am yelling (Xbox record that) at my tv to record the last 30 seconds of my gameplay, pretty neat.
Do you own a Vita? Remote play sounds pretty cool (you can play PS4 games on your Vita within the same wifi connection). Cool for when someone else wants to use the TV.
The Dualshock 4 is much improved. It feels very similar to a 360 controller which is a good thing. X1 controller is great too. Head to gamestop and try them!
On PS4 there is a subscription now for online play. It's called PS+, it's $50 a year and you get lots of free recent games to play, mostly PS3 games for now, so it also depends heavily on whether ypu have a PS3 or a 360.
Another thing is Trophies, Gamerscore, and purchased content such as music or movies. If you stick with the same platform all this stuff transfers.
Personally I'm just getting both so I don't have to think about it :s
