I agree Rush is the best game mode for sniping as you can watch the objectives and there are only 2. There are usually other snipers to have battles with as well.
A good tip for starters is always try to miss ahead of the target if he is on the move. It is easy to miss behind and this is likely where you will miss most of your shots.
If you do find yourself in a closer quarters situation I often get one shot on with the rifle then switch to your pistol to finish him off with one or two shots.

As far as "sniping" in general goes the whole game style itself is more defensive obviously. I could guarantee that the biggest problem with trying to figure it out is always getting sniped yourself from god knows where. That's being said one key point id like to make is to know your surroundings through and through. Second, your PLD is your best friend. It takes somewhere like 120-150 kills or something like that on a single rifle to get range finder, and even then it's slit tougher to spot out a soldier running 300+ meters away or another sniper clean across the map without using that PLD. Honestly a lot of your time is spent around the PLD if you're legitimately sniping from distances otherwise unseen by other players. Plus it gives you your range in the middle while using it. For me basic routine is, if I'm sniping by myself, post up-scan the area-sight the target and distance-take the kill. If you're having slit of trouble with other snipers find a temporary spot, post up there and bide your time, then head back and catch em by surprise. There's a lot of variables but honestly once you get the hang of the motions it really flows into some no joke constant MVP matches bro.

Played a few conquest last night with ch3dz and ken then ch3dz went of so I switched to recon with the m40a5 I think it is as there was only the 2 of us on.i took what raz said and used the 8x scope and hey massive improvement to my sniping.distance seems that much easier calculated with the 8x scope.
just wanna say thanks to ken for running alongside me on the conquest maps and resupplying me with that all important ammo and covering my 6 even though he ain't got a working mic yet.
sorry angel last few nights iv been knocking of around the 10pm mark as sleep and work has caught up with me just a tad.keep doing what ur doing though with hitting games with ur CAG bretheren.
