I want to unlock the rifles...I did unlock DMRs last night but it's the rifles I want to play with.

I managed a 486m headshot with my silenced CS-LR4, which I was very happy with, considering the calculation I had to make (failed to notice I could zero the scope at this point) ...but yeah, I'm no good at the moment...and certainly not of much use in direct combat with a bolt action.

I'm the same buddy.when it comes to recon I suck big time.only way I unlocked the kit was to run recon with a carbine or pdw.when it comes to the rifles themselves I use the scout at the min and I would like to unlock the rest as well as the dmrs as well.any pointers that all u guys can share would be much appreciated as well

Yeah, you're gonna have to use a sniper rifle to unlock more sniper rifles (unlike BF3). BF4 was my first legitimate attempt at using sniper rifles, so I feel as many of you do. Personally, I stayed with the starter sniper, CS-blahblah, until I unlocked the SRR. The SRR has the fastest bullet speed and least bullet drop (I think) which, IMO, makes it the easiest to use, but it's the last unlock.

My best advice for sniper rifles would be to stick with a gun and setup. Get comfortable with one setup and unlock the rifles that way as different guns and scopes have different bullet drops and speeds, which affect how you aim high for bullet drop and how much you lead a running target.

I also had a lot of success playing Rush with sniper rifles. The enemies will mostly be in front of you and not coming up from behind.

Best way is to keep using the class that's how I got better.

And I recommend using the 8x scope no matter the distance as you only have to move your rifle some millimeters when aimed depending on your range to achieve a guaranteed hit.

Anything bigger than 8x is bad because you will have to do a lot more scope work as you are zoomed in more and it's very difficult.

Also use the flags this makes it much easier to zero your scope.

Go in to a game and get exactly 200 meter from a objective flag DONT zero your scope as you need to find where the bullet will drop, keep aiming higher and higher until the bullet you fire will go straight toward the flag then you know that that mark on the scope is exactly 200 meter then do this for 300, 400 ext ext

You may say " well I can just zero my scope" true true but if there is nothing you can use as a range finder this is a very good way of getting used to ranges with out using a range finder.

Also always have your scope zeroed to 200 meter (when not shooting far) even if your 100-150 meter away aim at the neck you are guaranteed a headshot or a hit win win you will never miss the target this way.

The PLD binoculars also have a range finder this is a very good tool when just starting out.

Hope this helped I know it sounds a little confusing but this is the simplest way to tell you sniping is very hard when just starting and you won't be amazing in a month it takes time. It takes a few shots to get the correct range even for the best of us.

Now get out and get sniping

DMRs ... Angled grip ... and probably the Heavy Barrel as it seems to drop people in fewer shots. Use it at medium range, you don't want to be up close fighting Assaults, PDWs, Shotguns. Hmmm, I kind of use it like I would an LMG (keep your distance if you can).

Thanks for the tips fellas and thanks for taking the time too...very much appreciated. :-)

I've read that the Scout Elite is quite a beastly little rifle...that's the second unlock so a little way to go for that. I will use DMRs at some point...they're not included in C. I. B...is this due to sniper rifles?

I'm akso trying to find areas on each map to remain in place and just wait for targets...but this feels so alien.

It's due to BF3 not having a DMR category, as they were grouped with snipers. I don't know if they count for C.I.B.

IIRC, the Scout Elite has a high damage output but a lot of bullet drop.

Kuj DMI can be used as sniper riffle for the CIB process I'm pretty sure you can get a snipe ribbon from DMI
