I played a ton of Support in BF3 because I felt confident that the M27 IAR could compete with other guns but I can't find anything quite like it in BF4. Eventually, once I've unlocked attachments for the LMG, I'll run Support with a Carbine.

Support with the carbine is the way forward.i tend to play around a lot with the carbines over a lot of the bf4 weapons.

Yes archangel support doesn't mean you have to use Lmg, those are a scare tactic to keep people from pressing forward but useless in a gun fight plus if you use bipod it makes you a sitting duck cause you turn is limited. You can still support and make your class fulfill there duties without suppressive fire, for instance when kujeaux is on a roof top I will follow him up and drop claymore on ladder so he has no expected visitors or if he corners himself in a apartment or room lol I drop my clay more in doorway so he can scope in with out worrying about someone sneak up. When they trigger my clay more I head back to his position to give support incase more visitors show

Also your weapon is just a preference your class is what matters and if your a team player. Each class has a purpose and you can almost use any type of gun for numerous classes but the important things to remember are:

Recons duty- give cover fire and spot enemies

Engineer duty- repair and destroy

Support- supply ammo box and support your team at any cost!!

Assault duty- (((revive team))) and well revive team lol

If we all play as a team and use our class what there meant for we shall not lose


Keep your teammates close and your Dog Tags closer or I will STEAL your TAGS

Havent played assault alot, more of an eng guy with a carbine! Love the first carbine AC something or other. lol.
