So I only played one match last night on tdm core, but I noticed when I was browsing the menu the game mode infected. I'm wondering if this is like halo's infected mode or is it more like zombies?

So I only played one match last night on tdm core, but I noticed when I was browsing the menu the game mode infected. I'm wondering if this is like halo's infected mode or is it more like zombies?
the game starts and there is a 15 second countdown till the computer randomly picks one of the (I think, iDR) 8 or 9 players to be the infected. this starting infected it seems had a pistol and every infected he infects gets a projectile knife thingy i forget the name.
the non infected get shotguns and scavenger. the goal is to survive the zombies, every time someone is infected it adds like 30 seconds to the game's time limit. If the game times out, the humans win, otherwise if everyone is infected infected win.
I tried it and I didn't like it one bit.. I'll stick with TDM.
