General Forum suggestion

Hey Guys,

I couldn't think of a better place to put this, so please move it if you know of a better general forum.

I was talking with Cheech today about some things, and I recommended that there be a structure for a member being placed in multiple games at a time.

Right now we are placed in the main game we play, but are asked what games we play when we sign up. We are placed in a company, platoon, and squad inside that game and that is where we are housed. We can move ourselves due to recent changes with the forum, but we can only be associated with one game at a time. Most of us play other games, but none of us are placed in other squads.

What I propose is that when a member signs up, they apply to the clan. Get accepted, and are given an application to apply to the games they would like to play. At this point, in the single application, they check the boxes and the application moves on to the leads of each game.

From there our normal structure can take place. You are placed in a company, platoon, and squad for the games you applied for.

The profile would look like this:

Etc.:
Etc.:

Game Association

Battlefield 3
Company: Alpha
Platoon: 1st
Squad: Charlie

Call of Duty: Black Ops II
Company: Charlie
Platoon: 3rd
Squad: Alpha

(If there isn't a game listed, they didn't apply for it, therefore they don't play it)

The reason why I bring this up is because as it stands we are linked to one game, and if I want to find other people in my squad that play a different game, I have to look at their profile or ask them individually. Having it right on the site, would be convenient. This should help with people playing across games without playing against a squad from that game. If you want to play the other game, or earn medals from the game, you just hit your squad up (from that game) and go at it.

I can see the logistics being a pain when it comes to practices, if the squads chose to do so. Also, the fact that we would need to be active in more than one game forum, adds more activity on the site, is kind of inconvenient. Which is why I wanted to make the discussion. What do you guys think? Think it would be nice to add the additional game associations to a player's profile?

If you think there might be issues with this, what are you thinking?

Ok so it makes more sense the way you put it down in the post...I will show you in a couple of days what it will look like after it is done then we can decide if we add more to it or take away...great idea Tuggins

Think this is a fantastic idea it will make finding ppl who play the games u are currently that much easier.i like this idea

I think this is a great idea as it means all members will be able to make contact with ppl who are currently playing the same games.also means ppl don't have an excuse as to having trouble gaming with different CAG members.i for one like this idea.

Some of the work to make it easier for you guys can now be seen in your profile page. Please take a look and update the new profile fields and any other fields you have not updated.

New fields include other games you play and other units you are a part of. Select all the games you play from the list and you can add what other units you belong to as well.

How do we know what other units we belong to? Do we just add ourselves to a unit and introduce ourselves?

That's a great idea, I do like it! That way they not only can we better place who plays what but every one has a better chance of meeting new people.

How do we know what other units we belong to? Do we just add ourselves to a unit and introduce ourselves?

Well, you will have to get with Brotal if you are going to be playing bf3 and then you guys will find out what other units you are a part of...they are still working on that so in the field where it says what other units you are a part of just enter BF3 for now ...also the same for other games played..


I am still working on the layout for this but you can already see the changes I have made in your profiles
