The x12s don't let you mess with the sound effects and tone effects of the surround sound. Where as the x32s do. Yet you only have three stages for both. I'm not sure if any TBs come with a mix amp like the Astros.

I believe you can buy the surround sound amp separately for any of the TBs

All TBs are surround sound. I though that the mix amp let you tweak with the sound levels a lot more though. Granted the x32s are great even with the set three choices for tone (footsteps, character talking, and reloading) and effects (gun fire, explosions, kill streak sounds) are good I just wish I could mess with them even more. Kinda like an eq for stereos.

Well yeah they are surround sound but not true dolby surround sound like the high end ones like the px5s, px1x, the px500 and shit...

The little separate box allows you to do some of those things but the px5s and up lets you go online and download your own sounds like you are talking about...

Oh hot shit. So I'm guessing that the px version of the TBs are for both sony and xbox? Thank you for telling me that also I would have looked forever for a mix amp for my x32s.

it would seem my 2yr old headset has seen better days. does anyone know of a good headset for Xbox for around $40 that I can pick up at GameStop or Target or somewhere like that? don't have much money to invest in it though, so nothing fancy.

I have the turtle beach x1 from walmart and I think it was about 30 or 25, it works great. it has lasted me about 2 years and still going strong. look into it.
