Just another reason to get the XBOX One. So glad they finally listened to us gamers
what are dedicated servers. I know that it is a good thing and thats what people want but why?
Dedicated servers means that one of the players isn't the host. With a player host, everyone is at the mercy of his/her connection.
Lag switchers are done. Since they can't be host, their lag switching can't work. Here's a video showing how a lag switcher freezes the game to get the kill.
Have you ever sat through host migrations? No more with dedicated servers.
There should be a more consistent feel to the game, since you're not at the mercy of the hosts network, whose brother just started downloading music.
I guess I should have answered the question :P
Dedicated servers will be Cloud servers used to host the games, rather than one of the players in the game hosting the game.
