You can do them but your not supposed to ask for the award before your two weeks is up or you are a full member.

it goes marks, sharpshooter, expert and then elite I believe.

Not true if you have completed the requirements for your marksmen you are aloud to request your marksmen award and your dogg ribbon .

That sir is not true. Their DOGG brother is supposed to do that, and that can only happen if the platoon commander gives the go ahead. That if it is before their two weeks.
Marksman then sharpshooter then expert. There is also a COD version of all if this too with the sharpshooter and expert being a little different
