Left 4 Dead 2 Sale is a Lie!

Left 4 Dead 2 is being advertised on live for $9.99 but when you go to pay for it it is actually charging people $29.99. So far they aren't telling us that they're going to honor that offer at all, and if you mistakenly paid $29.99 you're out of luck.

Don't buy this right now!

This is the conversation I had with Microsoft, and it didn't give me a happy feeling. This is after I was called a twat by one of their ambassadors for not being happy with the answer "we are aware of the issue".

Shannondoa M: We are working on and tracking the issue. I was told by another agent that a customer who saw $29.99 as the price was charged $9.99. If you already have or would like to try to make the purchase I can verify how much we charged you.

ryan: Sure but I don't want to pay $29.99 if it's advertised as $9.99

ryan: So as of now the answer is still nothing more than you're aware of the issue?

Shannondoa M: And we are working on it. We are also tracking everyone who is trying to purchase the item so we can ensure they have the opportunity to get the correct price once the issue is resolved.

ryan: So if people do pay the $29.99 they will be given $20.00 back?

Shannondoa M: When the issue is fixed the customers who are added to the investigation and tracking should be credited the difference.

ryan: Is everyone that buys the game today added to the tracking?

Shannondoa M: Only those who call in and are added.

Shannondoa M: Or chat in.

ryan: Is everyone that calls or chats with you added or do we need to request it?

Shannondoa M: I will need some information for the tracking form.

Shannondoa M: Can I get a contact phone number?

ryan: Alright, well it doesn't sound like I want to chance it. It sounds like I may get added to this tracking and may get compensated, but I also might get screwed like all the other people that made the purchase today that don't get on the tracking list.

(after 10 minutes without a response)

ryan: Xbox just keeps shoving the plane into a nose dive huh! Have a good one!

I know that if I go to a store and the sticker price says $9.99 but it rings up at the register for $29.99 I still get that item for $9.99. Apparently Microsoft is above these petty things, at least until the fall.

Alright I know it wasn't me, but the timing sure makes it seem like they fixed it because the "twat" started asking questions.

L4D2 is now officially only $9.99 for today only!
